“You’ve got to take care of yourself. Self care of the body is very divine because this is a gift of God. You got to take care of it, if you understand it. You’ll never get it for any price…once this body is gone, it’s gone!” – Yogi Bhajan, 1992
Self-care starts with knowing what and who you are. It’s a natural process to grow, to age, to die everyday BUT it’s a personal matter to become a sage. Yogi Bhajan taught that you’ve got all the knowledge and wisdom at birth and then you become a child with a perfect psyche. Cut to being an adult, and that state of perfect ecstatic innocence is gone. He said that you must regain that joy within. How do you do that? By practicing intensive self care.
Self-care is the art of cultivating joy. You have to make the time to love on yourself. Finding that joy inside you can be attained by conscious breathing, chanting mantra (the mental vibratory projected thunderbolt of the human!!!), and yogic exercise on a daily basis. Getting to know your energy flow and taking responsibility for your inflow and outflow; what you eat and how you eliminate, what you say, how you say it and what you listen to, and managing the the pranic and apanic forces in your body. Keywords: Apana, conscious breathing, equilibrium, Kundalini Yoga, mantra, Prana, Radiance, raghubir, self-care, Self-love, vayus, Yogi Bhajan
